The Lone Star Randonneurs annual New Year’s day ride is right around the corner, so don’t drink too much. Of course, even if you do, the best cure for a hangover is strenuous exercise. So bring a PowerBar™ and hit the asphalt.
This will be a populaire which means you don’t have to be a member to ride. If you’re curious about randonneuring this will be a great introduction for you. The 200k starts at 7 a.m (I can’t hang with this on New Year’s day). The 102K leaves at 10 a.m. (that’s more like it). The 200K has become quite a tradition and lots of riders will be out early. The site shows a residential address but most people will be leaving from the Kroger on Bowen. See you there.

My date dumped me for the Flaming Lips shindig….so I will be ready to ride. 100k, 200k, fast, slow, I don’t really care as long as long as I can ride with people that can enjoy some civilized refreshments along the route.
