In the world of cycling style, it’s cool to come across a company that equally respects graphic design and the primary function of its product. Twin Six founders and avid cyclists, Ryan Carlson and Brent Gale have 20+ years as designers and saw an opportunity to make us riders look a lot less ridiculous in our technical gear.

The Twin Six “Wear-To-Go Manifesto” states, “The gear we pull on is a statement of our style, identity and self. The industry’s slow uphill grind to better graphics has turned riders into unwilling billboards, moving color explosions and unfortunate cartoon characterizations.” The jerseys are between a Euro style road cut and an American style trail cut—making them appealing to lots of riders, regardless of tire size.

Thanks to the 20 or so riders who came out for the Coffee Cat alleycat during the Art Crawl/Better Block Project. Big ups to Opening Bell, Espumosa, Murray Street, and Philosophia Cafe for agreeing to be spots of fast invasion. If you follow some of the cyclists on Twitter, you’ll agree it was impossible to not be entertained by the late-night caffeinated conversations of Doom, cursing, and complaints of being so jacked on coffee that it made sleeping possibly more challenging than the ride itself.

In an attempt to let the world know how committed they are to their footwear line, Chrome announces their Turds For Gold Shoe Exchange. For two days only, Chrome will be slinging a new pair of shoes to anyone that sends them a worn-out pair of kicks.

“There are a lot of great shoe brands out their but few, if any, are made to handle the harsh demands of riding in the city,” says Chrome Marketing Director, Matt Sharkey.

Saw these “Kroozbox” bike baskets in Marfa last weekend and caught an immediate case of the smittens. Love struck, my friends demanded I get on my bike and chase down the two guys on vintage bikes to get the scoop. Turns out the two are the Austin-based designers of the not-yet-released “Kroozbox.” Only 100 are initially being constructed and each is made of wood, brushed aluminum, and weighs only one pound! And they retail for only like $100! The knife to the heart? I LOST THEIR CONTACT INFO and can’t presale one for myself or pester Jeremy and Ean into carrying a few of them at everyone’s favorite bike shop in Oak Cliff! If anyone knows how to locate these guys, please let me know. I’ve Googled and Googled and can’t find them. Frowning.

UPDATE!!! Word got out to the designers and they got in touch (see comments). Yes! I’ll have mine in about a month or so!
